From net
to frame.
Every frame in the Sea Shepherd collection is made with reclaimed fishing nets. Here is exactly what that material is, where it comes from, and how it is made. No mystery. No overstatement.
Net to pellet
to frame.
End-of-life fishing nets are collected at the end of their working life, before they can be discarded and become ghost gear. Post-consumer nylon, kept out of landfill and out of the sea.
The netting is mechanically recycled into polyamide (nylon) pellets in Taiwan. Mechanical recycling only. No chemical reprocessing.
Those recycled pellets are reinforced for durability and moulded into Melon frames by our manufacturing partner. Same Melon performance. New material.
